My Father Called Me Tiger
A Personal Tribute in Paint
This mural holds a deeply personal place in my work. It is the only piece I have created within my own home ~ painted not for a client, but as a tribute to my father, who lovingly called me "Tiger".
Rendered in a limited palette of warm neutrals, the composition explores both strength and softness ~ capturing the quiet presence and emotional depth associated with the animal. The restrained color scheme allows the form, light, and expression to take precedence, creating a piece that feels both grounded and timeless.
Unlike many of my large-scale commissioned works, this mural was created without external direction ~ guided purely by instinct, memory, and emotion. It became not only an artistic exercise, but a personal reflection.
Positioned within the space as both focal point and atmosphere, the tiger emerges from her surroundings with a sense of calm authority ~ watchful, steady, and enduring.
The result is a piece that exists somewhere between portrait and memory ~ an intimate expression of identity, connection, and the lasting imprint of a father's voice.
A piece created not just to be seen ~ but to be felt.
