The Cars His Life Made Possible
A Curated Portrait of a Life's Work
This mural was created for a private collector to celebrate a lifelong passion for classic automobiles - an extraordinary collection of more than one hundred vehicles, many of them among the rarest and most prestigious of their kind.
While business has been the foundation of this success, the cars have always been his passion. This piece was designed to honor both - the achievements that made the collection possible, and the collection that has brought him the greatest joy.
Spanning the full width of the garage, the composition unfolds as a a visual narrative, moving from left to right through the milestones that defined his path. Beginning with his childhood home, the story continues through the earliest ventures that marked the start of his entrepreneurial life - including the first Feather and Fins restaurant and the green Mack truck that led to the creation of Bay Disposal, now the largest in the region. From there, the timeline progresses through Johns Brothers Security Co. and culminates with the Schauback Companies office building which also houses his restoration work.
While these represent only a few of the many companies he has built over time, they are the ones most personally significant to him - and were chosen to anchor the story within the mural.
Above and around the collection, a layered sky was designed to expand the space beyond its walls, creating an environment that feels both grounded and expansive. Every element - from the placement of each vehicle to the integration of landscape and architecture - was developed to guide the viewer through the space as an experience rather than a single image.
The result is a curated portrait of a life's work - where achievement and passion meet - expressed through the cars, the journey, and the legacy they represent.
