This sculptural wall piece was finished in Venetian plaster for a two-story formal living room, where it was installed high above the main gathering space as an architectural focal point.
Rather than creating a uniformly polished finish, selected areas were intentionally left rougher while others were burnished smooth, allowing the surface to shift between softness, movement, and stone-like texture as the sun's rays entered and moved around the room.
The variation in finish emphasized the flowing forms of the sculpture while giving the piece the character of an ancient European relief ~ as though it had emerged from the walls of an old villa over time.

Viewed both from below and from the second-story bridge overlooking the foyer, the finished piece introduced scale, artistry, and quiet drama to the open interior.
