Created for a castle-inspired residence, these staircase railings, balusters, and risers were originally constructed from wood, then transformed by hand into the appearance and texture of carved stone. Layered finishes, custom coloration, and textured detailing were used to recreate the character of aged architectural stonework while remaining fully integrated with the surrounding faux finishes throughout the home. Only the stair treads themselves remained untouched.

Designed to feel authentic both visually and to the touch, the finished surfaces add weight, craftsmanship, and the character of a distant time to the sweeping staircase and adjoining spaces.
