Hand-laid Venetian Plaster transformed this expansive ceiling into the defining focal point on this level of the home's open living space. Layers of deep crimson and warm mustard plaster were blended and burnished by trowel to create luminous depth, movement, and a reflective mineral sheen that shifts with the changing light throughout the day.
Designed to draw the eye upward without overwhelming the surrounding architecture, the ceiling was balanced by quieter cream-toned Italian plaster walls throughout the adjoining spaces.

The result is both dramatic and refined ~ a vibrant suspended plane of color that anchors the room while remaining fully harmonious with the home's overall atmosphere.
